Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026. The agreement between you and Slope when you use the service.

The short version

  • Use Slope to grow your own websites or your clients' (with their permission). Don't use it to harm others.
  • Don't try to break the service, reverse-engineer it, or abuse rate limits.
  • You own your data. We own the Slope service. We can use anonymized, aggregate data to improve detection.
  • Free tier is forever-free with limits. Paid plans bill monthly via Stripe; cancel anytime.
  • We provide the service "as is" — we try hard to make it reliable but we don't guarantee uptime SLA on the free tier.
  • If something goes wrong, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the prior 12 months (which on free is $0).

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on Slope, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Account

You must be 18+ to use Slope. Provide accurate signup information and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access (hello@slope.to).

3. Acceptable use

You will not:

  • Use Slope to crawl, analyze, or push issues for domains you don't own or have explicit permission to operate on.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Slope's source code, models, or proprietary algorithms.
  • Exceed published rate limits, attempt to circumvent quotas, or abuse the free tier across multiple accounts.
  • Use Slope to harass, spam, defame, or harm third parties (including via the GitHub issues we create on your behalf).
  • Resell or sublicense Slope without a written agency / reseller agreement.

Violation may result in immediate suspension and is grounds for termination without refund.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans bill in advance, monthly, via Stripe. You authorize Slope to charge your card on the renewal date. You can cancel anytime from the Billing page in-app or in your Stripe Customer Portal — you retain access until the end of the current billing period. We don't pro-rate refunds but we will consider hardship cases on request.

Quota overages (more opportunities or issues than your plan includes) cause new detection to pause until the quota resets on the 1st of the next month, unless you upgrade or buy a top-up pack.

5. Data ownership

You retain all rights to data you bring into Slope: your GSC + GA4 data, your crawl content, your project metadata. Slope's rights are limited to (a) processing the data to provide the service to you and (b) creating anonymized, aggregate metrics to improve our detection algorithms.

You can export everything at any time (Settings → Export) and delete everything (Settings → Delete account). Both happen within 30 days of your request.

6. Service availability

We aim for 99.5%+ uptime on paid plans, with no formal SLA on the free tier. Planned maintenance windows are announced in-app at least 7 days in advance. Unplanned outages are reported at status.slope.to (when launched) and post-mortems published within 7 days for any incident over 30 minutes.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't warrant that opportunity detection will identify every fix on your site, that AI Visibility tracking will be 100% accurate, or that shipped fixes will improve metrics. Use Slope as one input to your decisions, not the sole one.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slope's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We can terminate accounts for violation of these terms with notice (immediately for severe violations like data abuse or repeated quota circumvention). On termination, we delete your data within 30 days except for audit log entries kept for compliance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Disputes will be resolved in Calgary courts unless we mutually agree to arbitration.

11. Changes

Material changes (price changes, fundamental scope changes, additional restrictions on use) will be emailed to all active users at least 14 days before they take effect. Non-material changes (typos, formatting) are made in-place.

12. Contact

hello@slope.to — we read everything.
