How Slope detects two pages competing for the same query.
What it detects
Multiple pages from your project ranking for the same query. They split link equity and confuse search intent — usually one consolidated page would rank better than two competing ones.
Heuristic
- Query must have ≥
min_query_impressionstotal impressions (default 200). - > 1 page from the project ranking for it.
Suggested action
The opportunity lists the competing pages with their clicks + position. The "winner" is the page with most clicks. Either (a) consolidate by 301-redirecting losers to the winner, or (b) differentiate by retargeting losers to adjacent queries.
